Jesse Keith Whitley Calls On Fans To Pray For Tour Manager After Loss

Jesse Keith Whitley took to his official Facebook page on Monday morning (July 31) to ask his followers for some help. He shared the sad news that his tour manager’s mother passed away the night prior (July 30).

The singer asked his fans to please send their prayers, writing:

Y’all keep my tour manager and his family in your prayers as his mom went to be with the Lord last night. Thanks.”

He signed off the post with his initials JKW.

Jesse Keith Is The Son Of Keith Whitley & Lorrie Morgan

Jesse Keith Whitley is the son of Lorrie Morgan and the late Keith Whitley. He has followed in his parents’ footsteps, and has his own career in the music industry.

He performs a mix of his original music and covers. While he frequently sings his dad’s songs, he also honors other music legends such as Waylon Jennings and Lynyrd Skynyrd.

For example, Jesse covered Skynyrd’s patriotic tune “Red White & Blue.” The members of Skynyrd wrote the song shortly after the 9/11 attacks.

We’ve also heard Jesse expertly cover his dad’s song “I’m Over You.” The song was released in January 1990, just a few months after Keith’s death on May 9, 1989 at the age of 34.

“I’m Over You” reached the third spot on the Billboard Country Songs chart in the U.S. It also claimed the third spot on the country chart in Canada. In doing so, it further cemented Keith’s status in country music history.
