Jon Bon Jovi Returns To Stage Three Days After Abrupt Exit, Unveils Surprise Guest

Despite concerns about Jon Bon Jovi’s health, the rock group concluded their nine-night stint at Madison Square Garden in New York with a show-stopping performance.
On Thursday, July 23rd, Bon Jovi unexpectedly cut their concert short, reportedly citing a sinus infection. 90 minutes into the show, Train’s lead singer Pat Monahan joined the band on stage to sing “Livin’ On A Prayer.” When the song concluded, Jon Bon Jovi told the fans:
“I know I’m letting you down, and it’s not like me to do that,” he confessed. “Don’t throw away your ticket stubs, I’m going to figure something out okay, don’t – Just hang onto it, I’m going to figure out how to reschedule. I’m gonna have to cool it for a night. I feel great [sarcasm], I’ll see you again soon, bye bye.”
According to Setlist FM, Bon Jovi made it through 14 of their 23-song setlist, leaving much left unplayed.
Prior to the current Forever Tour, the group took a four-year hiatus from live performances, largely to allow for frontman Jon Bon Jovi to recover from vocal cord surgery. After Jon regained his vocal strength, they announced their return in October.
Bon Jovi Performs Again, Brings Out Surprise Guest During Encore
On Sunday, July 26th, Bon Jovi returned to the stage for their ninth and final show at Madison Square Garden. Thankfully, Jon Bon Jovi was healthy enough to perform for the whole set, including timeless hits like “It’s My Life” and “Livin’ On A Prayer.”
The group even added a thrilling encore to conclude the show. Before performing the final two songs, the headliners welcomed to the stage “the king of the great state of New Jersey,” Bruce Springsteen!
The crowd went wild as together they performed “Who Says You Can’t Go Home.” To double down on the epic surprise, Bon Jovi and Bruce Springsteen closed the night out with “The Promised Land.” Watch both songs being performed in the video below!
