Lionel Richie Has A New Health Update After 3 Days In The ICU

Lionel Richie has been discharged from the hospital after spending three days in the ICU.
Richie reportedly checked himself in as a precaution after falling ill during a performance in St. Louis.
He’s currently on tour with Earth, Wind & Fire, and while performing his hit song “All Night Long,” he asked for a chair to sit down. Afterwards, he went to the hospital to make sure everything was alright.
TMZ later reported that once Richie was admitted to the hospital, he underwent cardiac tests, and doctors were looking into dehydration.
Fans of the 77-year-old were especially concerned because this wasn’t the first health scare Richie has experienced in recent months.
Back in June, he was performing in Minnesota when he suddenly took an unplanned intermission about an hour into the concert. After the audience waited for about 40 minutes, one of his band members came out and told them that the singer would not be returning to the stage.
Earlier in the show, Richie revealed to the crowd that he was feeling dizzy.
“When you’re feeling dizzy, sit your ass down,” Richie said in a video captured by an audience member.

He later postponed his next two shows before returning to the stage on June 30. After his return, Richie shared a post on Instagram thanking his fans and confirming that he was doing well. The post’s caption read:
Thank you for every message, every kind word, and for all your love. ❤️ I’m doing well, and I’m grateful for all of you.
How Is Lionel Richie Doing Now?
In a report from PEOPLE, the outlet shared that Richie said he’s “doing great” and is now back home in Los Angeles.
That’s all we know about his condition, and the reason for his recent hospitalization hasn’t been made public. Richie also hasn’t posted an update on his social media just yet.
His next show is scheduled for September 26 in San Francisco, and as of right now, it’s still expected to go ahead as planned.
