Luke Bryan Describes ‘Falling In Love’ Mid-Performance With Chris Stapleton

“We billed [the show] as ‘Luke Bryan and Friends,’ but we hadn’t called any friends yet,” quipped Luke Bryan while reflecting on his Sept. 24 concert in Nashville, Tennessee.
The show, which celebrated the release of Luke’s new album, Signs, saw several artists join him onstage as the “friends” in the show’s name.
Among them were Anna Avery, Carrie Underwood, Kane Brown, Jason Aldean, and more … but there was only one “friend” who Luke claimed began to make him feel like he was “fallin’ in love.”
That was none other than Chris Stapleton, Luke revealed while on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
Luke Bryan Jokes About “Falling In Love” With Chris Stapleton
Performing at the Bridgestone Arena on Sept. 24 for his “Luke Bryan and Friends” concert, Luke Bryan memorably performed his 2013 song “Drink A Beer” with Chris Stapleton.
Speaking with Jimmy Fallon on a special episode of The Tonight Show on Sunday, Sept. 27, Luke shared that he and Stapleton shared a “real intimate moment” during the concert.
Noting that Stapleton is his No. 1 on his personal Mount Rushmore of Country Music, adding, “He’s my favorite singer.”
Luke then told Fallon, “The interesting that that I didn’t know about Stapleton … he really stares at you, like, while he’s singing at you.”
Fallon simply replied, “Oh.”
Continuing, Bryan said that Stapleton “watches your lips,” saying, “And, as he’s watching your lips, it’s very intimidating, but and then the whole time I’m kind of fallin’ in love.”
Excitedly, Fallon responded, “Wow, my gosh, you guys. You thought maybe you had a little spark or something?”
Luke then asked Fallon, “Are you not getting none of that right now?”
To laughter from the audience, Fallon admitted he wasn’t feeling a spark with Luke during their interview, but he went on to take a moment to commend Luke, saying, “You’re on Mount Rushmore as well, bud.”
