Luke Bryan found himself in a sticky situation prior to his August 25th concert in Chicago

Country music star Luke Bryan is currently touring the country on his Mind Of A Country Boy Tour with Bailey Zimmerman, Tracy Lawrence, and Chayce Beckham. On Saturday, August 24th, his show scheduled at Wrigley Field the following day was put in jeopardy when a semi-truck carrying gear for the show got stuck beneath an overpass in Chicago.

It appears the rig was traveling along Lake Shore Drive, the expressway through the city, when the top of the trailer collided with a crossbeam on the underside of the bridge, preventing the truck from moving further.

A passerby snapped photos of the scene and shared them on a Reddit feed with the caption, “Can’t park there buddy.”

The truck is wrapped in Jockey Outdoors branding with Luke Bryan’s image and name, leaving no question of who it belonged to or where it was headed.

Local residents in the comments revealed that trucks are not allowed on Lake Shore Drive for clearance reasons and shared that despite “no trucks” signs visibly posted, this unfortunate situation happens multiple times a year.

Local news reports that the truck was stuck for a few hours. No injuries were reported, and Luke Bryan was not present when the collision occurred.

The show must go on

Despite the semi-truck snafu, Luke Bryan’s concert at Wrigley Field on Sunday, August 25th, still occurred as scheduled. However, fan videos shared online reveal that the 48-year-old was battling bronchitis and struggled to get through his headlining set. At one point, he brought his tour openers back on stage to help him sing.

Reactions to the performance are split, with some fans commending him for making it happen despite his illness and others expressing that they would have preferred the show been canceled and rescheduled to a time when Luke was in better health.
