Taylor Sheridan’s “Mayor Of Kingstown” Finishes Filming Its Fifth & Final Season – What’s Next?

Mayor of Kingstown premiered on Paramount+ in November 2021. The series is co-created by Hugh Dillon and Taylor Sheridan.

Dillon is a singer, actor, and producer known for his roles in Durham County, Flashpoint, and Yellowstone. He played Sheriff Donnie Haskell on the latter series, which Sheridan co-created. He also plays Lieutenant Ian Ferguson on Mayor of Kingstown.

Sheridan is an actor, writer, producer, and director. He’s known as the driving force behind series such as Yellowstone, 1883, 1923, Landman, Lioness, Lawmen: Bass Reeves, Tulsa King, and Mayor of Kingstown.

Mayor of Kingstown follows Michael “Mike” McLusky (played by Jeremy Renner) in the fictional town of Kingstown, Michigan. For years, the McLusky family has helped maintain order between the criminals and authorities in town.

In January 2026, Paramount+ renewed Mayor of Kingstown for a fifth season and announced it would be its last. The streaming service also ordered a shorter, eight-episode season, vs. the ten-episode seasons fans have grown accustomed to.

Filming for the show’s fifth and final season wrapped on June 30. Renner celebrated the milestone in a post on Instagram, writing:

“Today our production closes down for our SEASON 5 of @mayorofkingstown

Today we celebrate

Today we are filled with gratitude

I am so very thankful for all of your support over the years—it has given my stride and purpose in my recovery and love in my heart.

Thank you cast and crew for carrying me through when necessary.

Today… I am HAPPY !! Blessings.”

Renner suffered near-fatal injuries in a serious snowplow accident on January 1, 2023. He made a miraculous recovery, and was able to continue his role on Mayor of Kingstown.

What Do We Know About Season 5 Of Mayor Of Kingstown?

As of press time, Paramount+ has not shared when the fifth season of Mayor of Kingstown will premiere. Past seasons have debuted in November 2021, January 2023, June 2024, and October 2025. So it’s a little challenging to pin down when Season 5 may start.

A March 2026 press release from Paramount revealed a new cast member joining the series in a key role during Season 5.

David Morse was named as a new series regular. He will play Russell Hardy, “a seasoned FBI agent” sent to work in Kingstown.

Hardy is described as “a true lawman” who “threatens to unearth all of Mike’s sins and secrets, and disrupt Kingstown’s tenuous balance of power.”

Some of the other cast members involved with the show’s fifth and final season include Edie Falco, Laura Benanti, Hugh Dillon, Taylor Handley, Tobi Bamtefa, Derek Webster, Necar Zadegan, Nichole Galicia, and Lennie James.

As in past seasons, all episodes from Season 5 will be available to stream exclusively on Paramount+.
