Taylor Sheridan started his career as an actor, landing notable roles in projects such as Sons of Anarchy and Veronica Mars. But today, he is most well-known for his work behind the camera.

The first film Sheridan wrote was 2015’s Sicario. After that, he wrote 2016’s Hell or High Water, which was nominated for four Academy Awards, including Best Picture and Best Original Screenplay.

From there, Sheridan wrote and directed 2017’s Wind River, followed by 2018’s Sicario: Day of the Soldado.

Also in 2018, Sheridan’s first TV series, Yellowstone, premiered. The show, which Sheridan directed, produced, and wrote, made him a household name.

Since then, Sheridan has served as the creative force behind several other hit series, including Landman, 1883, 1923, Tulsa King, Mayor of Kingstown, and Lioness.

As he turned his focus to working on TV, Sheridan became less involved in creating films. 2021 saw the release of two movies written by Sheridan: Without Remorse and Those Who Wish Me Dead. He produced another film, Finestkind, in 2023.

Now, Taylor Sheridan is gearing up to release the first movie he’s written in years. Titled F.A.S.T., the project reunites Sheridan with 1923 star Brandon Sklenar, who rose to fame playing Spencer Dutton in the Yellowstone prequel series.

Deadline describes F.A.S.T. as a film that:

“…follows a former special forces commando tapped by the DEA to lead a black-ops strike team against CIA-protected drug dealers.”

In addition to Sklenar, the project stars Sam Claflin, Juliana Canfield, Trevante Rhodes, LaKeith Stanfield, and Jason Clarke.

F.A.S.T. will be directed by Ben Richardson, who also worked with Sheridan and Sklenar as a director on 1923. Its producers are Sheridan, David Heyman, Jeffrey Clifford, and Jenny Wood.

F.A.S.T. was originally scheduled to premiere on April 23, 2027. But Warner Bros., the studio behind the film, has since delayed its debut.

Thankfully, the studio only pushed back its release by a few weeks. Deadline reports that F.A.S.T. will now enter theaters on May 14, 2027.

This change gives F.A.S.T. the chance to stand out as the only movie from a major studio to premiere that weekend. Its original release date, April 23, is the same day that two large projects, Spaceballs: The New One and A Place in Hell, are set to premiere. So it makes sense that Warner Bros. wanted to push back the release to give F.A.S.T. its best chance at box-office success.

Will you be lining up to catch Taylor Sheridan’s F.A.S.T. in theaters next year?
