A first look at the new episodes of Lioness has officially been released.

Last year, it was announced that Lioness would be returning for a third season on Paramount+. The series first premiered in 2023, with Taylor Sheridan serving as its creator and executive producer.

Since then, it’s become another hit on Sheridan’s long list of successful dramas, which includes Yellowstone, Mayor of Kingstown, Landman, Tulsa King, and more.

The series is inspired by a real-life U.S. military program. It follows character Joe McNamara (played by Zoe Saldaña), who leads a CIA team of female operatives known as the Lionesses.

Along with Saldaña, the other actors starring in the series are Nicole Kidman, Laysla De Oliveira, Dave Annable, Jill Wagner, LaMonica Garrett, James Jordan, and Morgan Freeman.

The premiere date for Lioness Season 3 has been confirmed. Fans can tune in when the new season drops on August 2.

That’s less than a month away, but for fans of the series, the wait probably still feels long. Thankfully, there’s finally a first look at what’s coming next.

On Thursday, July 16, Paramount released the official first trailer for the espionage thriller.

The first look is only a minute and a half long, but it’s enough to show that Season 3 will have some of the most anxiety-inducing moments the series has seen so far.

“I’m a soldier. And a soldier’s job is to fight,” Joe says to her kids.

Clips of several dangerous missions are shown. One intense snippet shows soldiers on the battlefield as hundreds of drones fly in the sky, dropping what appears to be bombs.

We then learn from U.S. Secretary of State Edwin Mullins (played by Freeman) that national security has been compromised.

The trailer ends with a chilling final line, with Mullins saying, “We’ll let the chips fall where they may. May God have mercy on us.”
