Former Voice Coach Michael Bublé Meets Up With New Voice Coach Riley Green At The ACM Awards
Riley Green has kept busy this year! In addition to continuing his country music career, Green recently made his acting debut in Marshals.
We won’t spoil details about his character in the Yellowstone spin-off, but let’s just say…he made quite the impact on the show.
Green will soon appear on fans’ TV screens again, but in a different role. He’s set to become the newest country coach on The Voice!
Green will join Kelly Clarkson, Adam Levine, and Queen Latifah as one of the coaches on Season 30 of the singing competition show. The season doesn’t have a premiere date yet, but it’s set to debut sometime in the fall.

Former Voice coach (and two-time champion) Michael Bublé was one of the presenters at the 2026 ACM Awards on May 17th. He sat at Green’s table (and they were joined by another former Voice coach, Blake Shelton).
Green was being interviewed by Entertainment Tonight‘s Cassie DiLaura backstage at the ACMs when Bublé jumped in. He shared his support for the “Worst Way” singer, calling him a “future winner” of The Voice.
Bublé joked that he’ll be “cheating” to vote for Green’s team “a bunch of times.“
Riley Green Has Perfect Response To Michael Bublé’s Mix-Up
The conversation took a hilarious turn from there. Bublé, who was born in Canada, mistakenly referred to Green as a fellow Canadian.
“I think he’s a tremendous musician,” Bublé said about Green while singing his praises as a future ‘Voice’ coach. “He’s a beautiful guy. He’s an emphatic guy…he’s Canadian.”
Green appeared to be holding back a laugh as he placed his hat over his chest, prompting Bublé to realize his mix-up. He said, “Are you not Canadian? Oh, you’re not Canadian.”
Green, who’s actually from Jacksonville, Alabama, had a priceless response:
“Alabama…it’s really close, actually.”
Fans commenting on the clip from the interview had some equally funny things to say about the interaction:
One commenter said, “So funny. His face when M.B said he’s Canadian..he thought: ‘[Do] I shut my mouth or [do] I tell the truth.'”
Another fan wrote, “It’s really close, actually. @cassiedilaura how did you keep it together with these two?”
“I’m dying…Canadian!! @michaelbuble is my new favorite comedian!” wrote one fan.
Someone else joked, “He thought he was talking to @joshrossmusic.” Country Singer Josh Ross, unlike Green, is actually from Canada.
