Miranda Lambert’s new song “Till the Going’s Gone” will get you movin’ and groovin’.

Lambert dropped the new single on Friday, June 26. The track is the second release from the superstar since she announced her brand-new country disco-inspired era.

If you’ve never listened to the niche genre before, then you might be wondering: “How could country and disco possibly work together?” But, somehow, it really does.

And with each new release, Lambert is proving that she knows exactly how to blend the two styles into something fun, fresh, and completely her own.

She first hinted that she was heading in a different direction with her music in May when she gave fans “Crisco.”

The upbeat track feels like a trip back to the 1970s, while also still keeping its country roots. Lambert even slipped in a nod to Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers’ iconic hit “Islands in the Stream.”

Then earlier this week, she shared a small preview of “Till the Going’s Gone” on Instagram. In the video, Lambert is standing at a bar with two cans in front of her. One is labeled “Country,” and the other is labeled “Disco.”

Lambert released an official visualizer video to accompany “Till the Going’s Gone.”

The video opens with a close-up shot of her as she begins singing the lyrics. Lambert is standing in front of a backdrop that has cactuses and cowboys riding horses on it.

As the song continues, the camera slowly pulls back, showing the full filming setup in a wide-open field. The song’s chorus goes:

“Yeah, I gotta keep movin’ / Gotta keep groovin’ / Let that song that’s in my soul / Carry me on down the road I gotta keep goin’ / Till the going’s gone / Till it’s gone, gone, gone”

Additionally, Lambert shared the exciting news that fans will soon be getting an entire album of country disco anthems.

Her upcoming album Crisco will drop on October 2 and is now available for preorder.

“I’ve always loved every corner of country music,” Lambert said in a statement. “The heartbreak songs, the honky-tonk songs, the songs that make you think and the songs that make you dance. Making this record reminded me that those things don’t have to be separated. We followed the songs wherever they wanted to go, trusted our instincts and ended up with something that feels really fun and really honest to who I am.”

She gave an early look at the tracklist, which you can see below.

  1. Snakeskin Boots
