Morgan Wallen Covers Funeral Expenses For Young Fan Lost To Cancer
on May 07, 2026

Morgan Wallen has a huge heart for his fans!
Morgan recently shared a sweet connection with a Michigan family whose 8-year-old son, Jameson Melton, was courageously battling multiple aggressive forms of cancer. Throughout his illness, Jameson found comfort and strength in Wallen’s music, which became a meaningful source of support for him.
Over the past year, the “Somebody’s Problem” singer also made an impact on their lives through thoughtful gestures and offering his support.

Young Cancer Patient First Meets Morgan Wallen
Last summer, Jameson and his parents, Amanda and Josh, had the chance to meet the country singer during his concert at Camp Randall Stadium in Madison. Jameson had previously been diagnosed with midline high-grade glioma and high-grade glioma in his brain and spine, along with Osteosarcoma, a type of bone cancer affecting his arm.
Jameson’s famly explains that he was preparing to start second grade when he began getting sick periodically over the summer. At first, the symptoms didn’t seem overly concerning, but as they continued, the family received the devastating news that he had only weeks to live.

Through the efforts of the Make-A-Wish Foundation and Morgan, Jameson and his family were able to experience a night they would never forget. In addition to enjoying the show, they met the singer backstage, received signed gifts, and even rode home in a limousine.
Amanda said meeting Morgan felt like much more than meeting a celebrity, it felt like reconnecting with a genuine friend.
“We were all so nervous at first the thought of talking to a celebrity, however that was not the case at all. Talking to Morgan Wallen was like talking to someone back home. He was so nice and genuine,” she wrote.
While she explained that every gesture meant the world to the family, the one thing Morgan did that meant the most was his prayer over little Jameson.
“We had some laughs, Jameson got to tell him how much his music has helped him through cancer. Jameson even gave Morgan Wallen a JAMESONSTRONG bracelet for him and his son. Which he wore throughout the entire concert! The most amazing thing that he did for us was he prayed over Jameson! We all huddled together and he led a prayer over him. My Mama heart couldn’t have been happier.”
Remembering Jameson Melton
Sadly, sweet Jameson lost his fight to cancer in August of 2025. Following his passing, his family has continued to honor his memory through the Jameson Strong nonprofit, an organization dedicated to providing comfort, support, and faith-based resources to families affected by pediatric cancer.
Through thoughtfully curated care packages, the organization aims to bring hope and spiritual encouragement to families across the United States during their cancer journey. You can learn more and contribute to Jameson Strong here.
The family has since shared that Morgan’s kindness extended far beyond the night of the concert. Following Jameson’s passing, the country star quietly stepped in to cover the young boy’s funeral expenses.
