Morgan Wallen may still be in the midst of his Still The Problem Tour, but he seems to be finding time to get in the studio as well.

In the evening of June 4, Morgan released a mysterious audio track on his Instagram page and his YouTube channel.

While he presented that audio with no caption or title, the audio was a sample of a yet-to-be-released song, lasting 58 seconds.

Now, on Saturday, June 20, Morgan has posted more of the same song, but with a section of an accompanying music video.

At the chorus, the song’s lyrics prominently focus upon the following, phrase:

“If it was meant to be, we’d have been by now. We wouldn’t have to keep trying to work things out.”

Whether this song, the title for which still remains unknown, is part of an upcoming album, an EP, or is just a standalone single is unclear… but the June 20 video post is accompanied by a link.

“Be the first to hear new music from Morgan Wallen,” reads the website, providing links to pre-save this unspecified music to Spotify or pre-add to Apple Music.

While his official website is still very much in the I’m The Problem era, the chance of new music being on the horizon is exciting, with this new webpage — presented simply in white with black text — being as mysterious as the audio and video clips the artist has shared so far.

Notably, it’s been just over a year since Wallen’s 37-track triple-album I’m The Problem was released.

Since then, he’s collaborated on “McArthur,” a stunning high-concept country quartet ballad by HARDY, featuring Wallen with Tim McGraw and Eric Church.

This was followed by the release of a duet between Ella Langley and Wallen, titled “I Can’t Love You Anymore,” which has become a staple of their shows together on tour — even inspiring significant fan theories about their onstage chemistry.

Now, with the June 4 and June 20 release of samples of a new song, fans are left hoping for more, and they hope the wait will be brief.

This is a developing story.
