Actor and director Clint Eastwood is beloved across America–let’s take a look at how he and his career has evolved over the years.

1950s

Eastwood got his start starring in B movies–he had no idea he would soon become a star.

1960s

During the 60s, Eastwood finally got a chance to be a leading man in A Fistful of Dollars, a spaghetti Western.

1970s

In the 70s, Eastwood was offered the role of James Bond, but he turned it down as he felt it should go to a British actor.

1980s

Eastwood was both the director and star of Pale Rider, widely regarded as one of the best films of the 80s.

1990s

In the 90s, Eastwood cemented his place in cinematic history at the Academy Awards. He won both Best Picture and Best Director in 1992 for Unforgiven. He was also nominated for Best Actor but lost out to Al Pacino.

2000s

Eastwood directed and/or starred in a plethora of movies in the early 2000s, including Million Dollar BabyLetters from Iwo Jima, and Mystic River.
