Post Malone recorded and released “Pickup Man” with HARDY for an upcoming project.

HARDY’s next album, Hixtape Vol. 3: Difftape, was announced earlier this month at the CMA Awards and is set to be released in March of 2024. The project will be compiled of various Joe Diffie classics reimagined and re-recorded with modern-day singers including country superstar Morgan Wallen and hip-hop artist, Post Malone.

The coolest part about the project? The tracks will feature Joe Diffie’s actual vocals as HARDY revealed to the press that the songs were created using recording sessions Diffie taped in the ’90s.

Joe Diffie was honored at the 2023 CMA Awards with a special (and mostly unexpected) tribute performance by Morgan Wallen, HARDY, and Post Malone. The trio sang “John Deere Green” and “Pickup Man,” and the collaboration quickly became a fan-favorite performance of the night.

The CMA Awards had a special guest to introduce the Joe Diffie tribute – Joe’s son Parker – who was the first to break the news that the songs performed would be included on HARDY’s upcoming third edition of his “Hixtape” series.

Post Malone’s rendition of “Pickup Man” made its debut on Billboard charts.

Even though Post Malone’s previous musical works have been heavily focused in rap and hip-hop, he has frequently expressed his affinity and  admiration for country music and has even released cover videos of some famous country tunes.

Last week, it was announced that Post Malone’s rendition of “Pickup Man” would be released as a single to country radio, and very quickly after, it officially debuted on the Billboard Country Airplay Chart. As of press time (Nov 14), the single is occupying the 54th spot on the chart and is expected to rise. This accomplishment marks Post Malone’s first-ever charting song on Country Radio.
