Rudy Giuliani Hospitalized For Pneumonia
Former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani has been hospitalized and is currently in “critical” but “stable” condition, according to a spokesperson.
Giuliani first rose to national prominence for his leadership during the September 11 crisis and later became a major figure in national politics. He has previously served as a personal attorney to President Donald Trump.

The 81-year-old is being treated for pneumonia, which doctors say became severe and required intensive medical care. Giuliani was briefly placed on a ventilator to assist with breathing but has since been taken off and is now breathing on his own.
“Mayor Giuliani is a fighter who has faced every challenge in his life with unwavering strength, and he’s fighting with that same level of strength as we speak,” spokesperson Ted Goodman said in a statement on X.
Medical officials indicated that his condition may have been complicated by underlying respiratory issues. These are believed to be linked to his exposure to hazardous conditions during the aftermath of the September 11 attacks, when he was serving as mayor of New York City.
“This condition adds complications to any respiratory illness, and the virus quickly overwhelmed his body, requiring mechanical ventilation to maintain adequate oxygen and stabilize his condition,” Goodman continued.
Giuliani is currently receiving treatment at a hospital in Florida. His representatives say he is responding to treatment, though his condition remains “serious” and doctors continue to monitor him closely.
