Josh Turner’s “Your Man” has officially reached 5x Platinum status, and he got a special surprise when Scotty McCreery showed up to present him with the plaque.

The moment took place at the Country in the Burg Festival in Cedarburg, Wisconsin. Turner was in the middle of his set when McCreery unexpectedly walked onto the main stage.

“Did you know Mr. Josh Turner, “Your Man” has been certified five times Platinum,” McCreery announced.

McCreery then had a large frame brought out. It held multiple platinum records and the album’s official cover art.

“I gotta look at it first. Hold on, I don’t recognize that guy. He’s a lot younger than me,” Turner joked about the photo.

“Your Man” was Turner’s second studio album, released in January 2006. It debuted at No. 2 on the U.S. Billboard 200 and reached No. 1 on the Top Country Albums chart.

After taking in the huge milestone, Turner gave a touching speech, thanking everyone who has supported him over the past two decades.

“There’s very few countries in this world where you get to live your dream like we’re living ours,” Turner said. “And a lot of what we get to do is because of y’all. And so, we just thank y’all for continuing to come out to the shows, to buy the records, buying the tickets, buying the merchandise, and everything else.”

Scotty McCreery And Josh Turner Go Way Back

The fact that Scotty McCreery was the one to give Josh Turner his 5x Platinum plaque made the milestone even more meaningful. After all, these two country stars go way back, all the way to the very beginning of McCreery’s career.

Turner’s music basically helped launch McCreery into stardom. He sang the title track for “Your Man” during his American Idol audition in 2011. He impressed the judges enough to move on in the competition and was eventually crowned the champion of Season 10.

Since then, Turner and McCreery have shared the stage several times. Turner was even there for one of McCreery’s biggest career moments when he was inducted as a member of the Grand Ole Opry.

McCreery and Turner came full circle once again earlier this year when they recorded an official duet version of “Your Man” for McCreery’s latest album, 15.
