The Dollywood theme park welcomes millions of visitors each year. Many of those visitors stay at one of the two Dollywood resorts: the DreamMore Resort & Spa and the HeartSong Lodge & Resort.
Guests who want to enjoy truly unique and quintessentially Dolly Parton-themed lodging can stay in a one-of-a-kind hotel “room” on the DreamMore property. This “room” is Dolly’s former tour bus, which she used from 2008 to 2022.
A fact sheet on the Dollywood website states that the bus traveled nearly 360,000 miles, with most trips departing from Nashville for either Los Angeles or Dollywood (in Pigeon Forge).
Called Suite 1986, the bus-turned-hotel-room has been described as “the ultimate behind-the-scenes Dolly Parton experience.” Nearly every inch of the bus was designed by Dolly and her sisters, giving guests “a unique glimpse into Dolly’s life on the road.”

Since Dolly knew she’d be spending a ton of time on the bus, she designed it to be both comfortable and functional. It was a workspace and a home away from home, one that Dolly once called her “favorite.”
The bus is decorated with hand-painted murals, bright fabrics, and some memorabilia from Dolly’s touring career. Dolly also added a full-size fridge, electric doors, and a tub.

The DreamMore acquired Dolly Parton’s former bus in March 2022. That’s when it was transformed into Suite 1986.
As the Dollywood website explains, up to two guests can stay in Suite 1986. You will also have an accompanying room in the main resort as part of your stay, where four additional guests can sleep. That room will have a view of the bus.
Guests staying in Suite 1986 can also partake in a VIP dining experience (for two guests). The menu includes smoked meats, fried chicken, biscuits, mashed potatoes, and dessert, among other dishes.
The price for Suite 1986 starts at $10,000, and a minimum two-night stay is required. But your stay helps a good cause, as the profits are donated to The Dollywood Foundation.
