Steve Anthony’s New Music Video For “One Horse Town” Celebrates Small Town Life

Meet Steve Anthony, The Texas-Based Singer & Songwriter Behind The New Song “One Horse Town”

Steve Anthony started singing and playing guitar at the age of 10. Then, at age 15, he formed his first band. He later found notoriety as a songwriter and member of the country music group Southern Comfort.

Anthony eventually took a break from performing, other than singing in church. But after awhile, he felt inspired to write songs again, and found himself chasing his country music dreams once more.

The Texas native has since released several albums and singles. One of those singles includes the fun-loving summertime song “I’m Falling In.”

Anthony put his diving experience to use in the video, which was filmed underwater. The video made its digital premiere on Country Rebel in July 2023.

Now, Anthony has another song to share, called “One Horse Town.” He also filmed a stunning music video to pair with the track.

“One Horse Town” Was Inspired By His Own Hometown

In a post on social media, Steve Anthony explained the story behind “One Horse Town.” He said, “I wrote this song about the small town I grew up in, which isn’t nearly as small these days, and it’s one of my favorites!”

“One Horse Town” and its accompanying music video celebrate the best parts of small town life. Some of the lyrics are:

“Don’t ever let ’em come take it away, take it away from us. We’re gonna fight for it until they put us in the ground. Livin’ life in this one horse town.”

The video for “One Horse Town” was shot on location in Anthony’s hometown of Caldwell, Texas, his ranch there, and on the ranch he owns along the Texas border in Langtry. Langtry is most-well known as the home of the infamous lawman Judge Roy Bean, “The Only Law West of the Pecos.”

Panoramic shots show Anthony performing on the bluffs above the Rio Grande and Pecos Rivers, mixed with footage of the breathtaking Southwestern desert scenery.

Anthony shared the “real thrill” he felt while shooting the video for “One Horse Town” in the place he proudly calls home.

“To be able to shoot the aerial drone footage along the rivers was a real thrill for me,” he said. “The scenery looks just awesome and I’m happy to be able to share my ranches with others. Most people think of a one horse town as a place you want to get away from, but during the COVID outbreak I felt very fortunate to be born, raised, and still living in my ‘One Horse Town.'”
