Tim McGraw is now a member of the Country Music Hall of Fame, and his family stood by him as he celebrated the milestone.

On Sunday night, October 18, McGraw was one of the three artists inducted during the Country Music Hall of Fame Medallion Ceremony.

He was inducted in the Modern Era Artist category, while Paul Overstreet was honored in the Songwriter category and the Stanley Brothers were inducted in the Veteran Era Artist category.

The Hall of Fame first announced McGraw’s inclusion in the 2026 class in March, when member Marty Stuart revealed the honorees during a ceremony in the HoF Rotunda.

After the announcement, the “I Like It, I Love It” singer gave a touching speech, thanking the woman he says helped him get to where he is today. His wife, Faith Hill, was there to celebrate the big moment, and McGraw made sure to give her a special shoutout for always standing by his side.

At the time, McGraw said:

“Everyone who knows me knows that I wouldn’t be standing here today if it weren’t for great women in my life,” he said. “From my grandmother, to my mom, my sisters, my daughters, and most of all, my wife…thank you baby. I would not be standing here today if it wasn’t for you, nor would I want to be. And, I can’t wait for the day when I’m sitting there, and you’re standing here.”

Hill also attended her husband’s official induction on Sunday night, along with two of their daughters, Audrey (24) and Maggie (28).

The McGraw family walked the red carpet before the ceremony and posed for photos together.

Longtime fans know Hill rarely makes public appearances these days. She has mostly stepped away from the spotlight, only showing up for special moments involving her family in recent years.

As the night went on, country music stars paid tribute to McGraw, including Lainey Wilson, Lady A, and Parker McCollum. Randy Owen of the legendary band Alabama was the one to induct McGraw.

He then stepped on stage to give a speech. As he spoke, he struggled to hold back his emotions, and his voice cracked several times.

“I’m going to cry because I cry all the time,” Mcgraw said, per a video taken by The Tennessean. “There’s a lot of estrogen in my house.”

He went on to talk about the first day he moved to Nashville. He remembered taking a Greyhound bus to the city with only $1,500 to his name.

The same day, he learned that one of his music idols, Keith Whitley, had passed away. McGraw said that unlike most people, who might have taken the news as a bad sign, he saw it differently as he began a new chapter in his life.

“I think Nashville is telling me the truth, my very first day, that this music costs something. The people who make it, give everything that they’ve got. And if you’re lucky enough to make it down the road, you owe it to the ones who didn’t, and the ones who paved it.”

Congratulations to Tim McGraw on his induction into the Country Music Hall of Fame!
