Prior to the live Grammy Awards show Sunday night (February 5), more than 70 awards were given out at the Grammy Premiere ceremony. Those early awards included some country categories, including Best Country Solo Performance, Best Country Duo/Group Performance, and Best Country Song.
The win marks the 12th for the country music legend who beat out Kelsea Ballerini, Zach Bryan, Maren Morris and Miranda Lambert for the win.

The pair were up against “Wishful Drinking” by Ingrid Andress and Sam Hunt, Brothers Osborne’s “Midnight Rider’s Prayer”, “Outrunnin’ Your Memory” by Luke Combs and Miranda Lambert, Reba McEntire and Dolly Parton’s “Does He Love You — Revisited” and Robert Plant and Alison Krauss’ “Going Where the Lonely Go.”

During the live broadcast, Shania Twain announced that Willie Nelson won his second Grammy of the night. Nelson was named a winner for Best Country Album for “A Beautiful Time.” Nelson was not in attendance to receive his award.
