This year’s CMA Awards brought many strong talents to the stage, including Zac Brown Band. The country group performed their newest song, “Same Boat,” at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena on Wednesday, November 10th.

Nominated for Vocal Group of the Year, along with Lady A, Little Big Town, Midland, and Old Dominion, Zac Brown has been experimenting with music over the last several years, but have since returned to their original sound for their latest album, aptly named The Comeback.

“I love making songs that are absurd,” Brown said of his new album in an interview with PEOPLE. “There’s the serious songs that rip your heart out. There’s the nostalgic songs. There’s the songs that pump you up and make you want to rock in a stadium. And then there’s the ones that are just made to be absurd. It’s funny when people try to make sense of it.”

Zac Brown Band’s last CMA nomination was in 2017 for Vocal Group of the Year and their last CMA win was in 2010 for New Artist of the Year.

When Zac Brown Band took the CMA’s stage, you could feel the excitement in the audience. Performing their new song “Same Boat,” they brought us back to their “Chicken Fried” days, and we loved every second of it!
