Zach Top Delivers Flawless Cover Of “I Can Still Make Cheyenne”

Zach Top is back doing what he does best – sharing his rendition of classic country songs.
Often praised for bringing a classic country sound to a new generation, Top regularly takes the time to pay homage to the great artists who paved the way before him. From Merle Haggard’s “Misery & Gin” to Toby Keith’s “Who’s Your Daddy?”, the 28-year-old shows an appreciation for a wide variety of country music styles.
Most recently, he shared a cover of George Strait‘s “I Can Still Make Cheyenne,” performed live at a recent show. Strait released the breakup song about a rodeo cowboy in August 1996 as the third single from his album Blue Clear Sky. The song peaked at #4 on the U.S. Hot Country Songs chart and has since been certified platinum by the RIAA.

Now, 30 years after its release, the song is still loved by many country music fans, as evidenced by Zach Top’s latest performance.
“Ready to get back to playing shows this week!” he writes.
The Washington native is currently on the road for his Cold Beer & Country Music Tour, with upcoming stops across Canada. Then, he will return to New York, Boston, and other parts of the Northeast.
