Love is in the air! Whether you’re celebrating with a new love, and old one, or by yourself, nothing says it’s Valentine’s Day like a box of chocolates, some roses and stories about our favorite country artists and their journey to find love.
While there are plenty of country stars who have suffered more heartbreak than joy in relationships, we would argue that the list of those who have found lasting love is longer. Stars such as Alan Jackson, Toby Keith and Tim & Faith have marriages that lasted more than two decades! Others are well on their way to a lifetime of happiness with their significant other.
Over the years we have compiled stories of country stars and their spouses, sharing detailed accounts of how they met, their wedding, their children and where they are now.
Many country singers were in a relationship with their spouses prior to becoming a household name (i.e. Luke Bryan, Thomas Rhett, Chris Stapleton, Toby Keith). But others found love as a result of their fame (i.e. George Jones, Brad Paisley, Randy Travis, Blake Shelton).
Below is a list of some of our favorite county music couples and their love stories.
Toby Keith and his wife Tricia first met in an Oklahoma night club in 1981, two years before Toby would have a major career breakthrough with his debut single, “Should’ve Been a Cowboy.” The couple married in 1984 and would have celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary in March. While Jimmy Buffett isn’t necessarily a country singer, his impact on the genre is undeniable. So it seemed only fitting to include him in this list.
Jimmy Buffet married his wife Jane in 1977, six years after they first met. The chance meeting a bar over spring break caused Jane to forego all of her future plans and stay with Jimmy. The couple were married 46 years at the time of his death in 2023. READ THEIR LOVE STORY HERE.

George Jones met Nancy Sepulvado on a blind date in 1981. “I had no idea that someday she would save my life…They say love can change the world. I’m here to testify that it changed one man,” Jones wrote in his 2006 autobiography. Dwight Yoakam has been in the spotlight for decades, but has managed to keep his private life tightly under wraps. But, in a rare move from his team, they shared that Dwight has married Emily in 2020 in front of a crowd of 10 attendees.
