Carly Pearce and Chris Stapleton team up to deliver emotional performance of “We Don’t Fight Anymore” at 2023 CMA Awards.
This dynamite duo came out of nowhere with the release of their new hit song, “We Don’t Fight Anymore,” in June of 2023. The song was the lead single on Pearce’s fourth studio album, and quickly became one of her most popular songs to date. This emotional song paints a picture of a love that has grown cold implying it is so far gone that it’s not even worth fighting about anymore.

From a very young age, Carly knew she wanted to be a country music singer. Carly started to perform regularly with a bluegrass band at the age of 11, and landed a spot on the program at Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, where she performed five times a week. The singer made her way to Nashville at 19 where she endured the ups and downs of the country music industry. After a few years of networking with performers and executives, Pearce secured herself a spot on the stage of the Grand Ole Opry. This opened up the door for her to be heard by record producer Busbee who she later signed with.
At 26 years old, the singer was featured on “Wasn’t That Drunk” by the Josh Abbott Band resulting in Carly gaining popularity. Later that year, Pearce co-wrote a song called “Every Little Thing,” Busbee produced it, and it was released independently becoming Carly Pearce’s first hit song.
Carly has since been nominated for several awards, securing several wins, and she continues to win the hearts of fans with her emotional style many can relate to.

Carly is nominated for two CMA Awards this year (2023): Female Vocalist of the Year, and Musical Event of the Year.
Carly is a force to be reckoned with on her own, but add Chris Stapleton to the mix and they are absolutely unstoppable! The “Tennessee Whiskey” singer adds perfect harmonies to this song. Many of you might be wondering how these collaborations come to fruition. Carly explained that she messaged Chris Stapleton’s wife on Instagram asking if he would accompany her on “We Don’t Fight Anymore.” Carly shared that she just envisioned Stapleton joining her for this duet from the time she wrote the song.
“I DMed his wife on Instagram,” Carly shared. “To see if he would maybe sing the song with me. ‘Cause I feel like, to get to Chris, you gotta go to the wife, ’cause she’s the girl … And it worked!”
Carly and Chris took the stage wearing black, with Chris ditching his guitar for the performance. The two started out at different points on stage before Carly makes her way to Chris for the last chorus. The collaboration earned a standing ovation from the crowd.
