Alan Jackson’s Daughter Mattie Finds Love After Loss

Alan Jackson‘s eldest daughter, Mattie, recently married Connor Smith in West Palm Beach, Florida. It was a beautiful celebration of love after years of loss and hardship.

Mattie was married once before, to Ben Selecman. They said “I do” in October 2017. Less than a year later, Ben died after he slipped and hit his head while helping people onto a boat.

After losing Ben, Mattie channeled her grief into a book called Lemons on Friday. She shared how her faith helped her through some of her toughest moments. She also expressed her hope she’d find love again some day.

Mattie found that love with Connor. She first introduced him to her followers in April 2022, saying:

“I have believed, prayed, and claimed for 3 and a half years now that God would give me the chance to love someone with my whole heart again. Other dear widow friends assured me that my heart could heal and expand to love two people equally, though differently. And I hoped so desperately that would really be true. This man is more of an answer to prayer (mine and countless others!) than I sometimes think he even realizes.”

Mattie and Connor announced their engagement in September 2022 after celebrating Connor’s 30th birthday.

Mattie’s family welcomed Connor with open arms. Her parents, Alan and Denise, and sisters, Ali and Dani, were all present to celebrate with them at their stunning beachside wedding.

Alan expressed his happiness over Mattie’s marriage in a post on social media. He shared a sweet family photo of him, Denise, their daughters, their significant others, and his infant grandson, named Jackson. Jackson is Ali and her husband Sam Bradshaw’s son.

“Denise and I are so happy to officially welcome Connor into our family! Wishing @MattieJackson & Connor Smith a lifetime of happiness… Livin’ on Love!” Alan wrote in the photo’s caption.
