Who is Sarah Hardwig?
Sarah Hardwig was born blind and was diagnosed with a genetic eye condition when she was just five months old. She told the AGT judges:
“Music has always played an important role in my life, and I want to prove to the world that regardless of whether you have a disability or not, you can do absolutely anything that you set your mind to.”
According to her website, she resides in Nashville, TN, and released her debut single “Who I Am” in 2022. In October 2024, she accomplished a lifelong dream of performing at the Grand Ole Opry.
For her audition, Sarah performed Lainey Wilson‘s “Heart Like A Truck,” which was released in 2022 as the lead single from the album Bell Bottom Country. Her parents wiped away tears as they watched from the wings.
Sarah’s Performance Lands With The AGT Judges
The young vocalist became emotional as she heard the roar of the audience’s cheers after her audition. Howie called the performance “beautiful and heartwarming” and added:
“You are the epitome of resilience to show up here and sing your heart out.”
Mel B commended Sarah’s vocals, but encouraged her to go “even bigger.” Sofia disagreed with that sentiment, saying that she “wouldn’t change a thing.” Simon called the audition “really, really good,” and added:
