One of the greatest love stories in country music has to be June Carter and Johnny Cash’s. Before they were married, they toured and played many shows together. One of our favorite collaborations of theirs is their duet “Jackson.”

During this particular performance of the famous song, the married couple could not seem to take their eyes off of each other! Filmed just one year after they were married, Johnny and June still looked like a couple of kids in love! Their newlywed bliss had yet to fade away – if it ever did in their 35 years of marriage.

I’d turn your green to emeraldAnd your skies full of diamondsAnd give you gold all over the ground…Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash, married 50 years ago today.

Johnny and June released their version of “Jackson” in February 1967 and it reached number two on the country charts. They won a Grammy Award for Best Country & Western Performance Duet, Trio or Group.

While the song was written by Billy Edd Wheeler and Jerry Lieber, and first recorded by the former, it is mostly known as a classic Johnny and June tune.

We would dare you to watch this video without smiling, but it’s physically impossible! Take a look at their flirty performance below.
