While this season of The Voice may be over, the drama is only beginning! Gearing up for her big return as coach on the singing competition series, Miley Cyrus hit up the Voice set to perform her breezy new single as well as poke fun at Blake Shelton for losing to her “big sis” Alicia Keys.
Heading into the season finale with the odds stacked in his favor, the country singer probably thought he had the Season 12 win in the bag. However, that proved not to the case when Chris Blue reigned victorious giving the big win to Team Alicia, prompting Cyrus to do her favorite thing, make fun of the country singer.
“I [love] all these people so mucho!” Cyrus captioned an Instagram post featuring all the coaches. “Stoked my friend Blake Shelton is so happy (AND didn’t win HA jk) & thank you Gwen Stefani for making my buddy smile! You ROCK!”
The singer also went on to comment on how, while she and fellow coach Adam Levine couldn’t be more different, they have developed an unbreakable friendship she wouldn’t trade for the world.
Prior to the “Malibu” singer joining the cast, Shelton had come accustomed to having a monopoly on all country contestants. However, between having Billy Ray as her father and Dolly Parton as her godmother, Shelton had to fight ruthlessly with Cyrus in Season 11, and from the looks of it, that was only the beginning.
