Body Of ‘1923’ Actor Cole Brings Plenty Found In Kansas

Cole Brings Plenty, an actor who appeared in 1923 and nephew of Yellowstone actor Mo Brings Plenty, was found dead Friday, April 5.

Less than a week after he went missing, actor Cole Brings Plenty was found deceased in a wooded area in rural Kansas. Authorities had been searching for the 27-year-old who was wanted on alleged domestic violence charges.

Authorities in Johnson County, Kansas, southwest of Kansas City, said that an unoccupied vehicle was found by deputies. They searched the area and found Cole’s body in a wooded area near the vehicle.

Cole’s uncle, Mo Brings Plenty, and other members of Cole’s family posted to Instagram this week stating that he had been missing since Sunday (March 31) and was last seen in Lawrence, Kansas, and missed two screen tests on Monday morning, causing alarm for the family as it wasn’t characteristic for the actor.

Cole Brings Plenty was reportedly involved in a domestic disturbance the day he went missing.

Lawrence officers had been called to an apartment for reports of a woman screaming for help and identified Cole as the suspect in the case.

The Lawrence Kansas Police Department shared a statement to Facebook following Cole’s disappearance stating that “the investigation identified Brings Plenty and traffic cameras showed him leaving the city immediately after the incident.”

They added that they had “probable cause for his arrest, and issued an alert to area agencies.” According to Native News Online, a warrant issued on April 3, 2024, states that Cole faced charges of aggravated residential burglary, aggravated domestic battery, and criminal restraint.

Following the discovery of Cole’s body on Friday (April 5), the Johnson County Sheriff’s Department issued a statement.

The investigation into Cole Brings Plenty’s death is underway and a cause of death is currently unknown.

Cole Brings Plenty is an Indigenous American actor who appeared in the 2022 film Into The Wild Frontier and had a recurring role as sheepherder, Pete Plenty Clouds, in the Yellowstone spinoff, 1923. He also appeared in the 2024 television series, The Tall Tales of Jim Bridger.
