Brantley Gilbert Shares Powerful Story Of Redemption On New Album, “Sins Of The Father”

Two years after the release of his previous album, Tattoos, Brantley Gilbert has returned with a new chapter to add to his story.
For nearly two decades, Gilbert has entertained and captivated country music fans with hit singles such as “One Hell of an Amen,” “Bottoms Up,” and “You Don’t Know Her Like I Do.” People have always appreciated Gilbert’s willingness to be an open book, as he unashamedly shares his struggles in his songs.
Such is the case on his new record, Sins of the Father, which debuted today (July 24th). The project, which is Gilbert’s eighth studio album, is his first with BBR Music Group/BMG Nashville.
All 15 of the album’s tracks were co-written by Gilbert, giving each piece an extremely personal touch. Some of his co-writers include Jelly Roll, HARDY, and Taylor Phillips, while the project was co-produced by Gilbert and his longtime friend, Brock Berryhill.
Sins of the Father takes listeners on a journey through different periods of Gilbert’s life, from the trials and tribulations of his past to the current joy and redemption he’s found as a husband and father.
Thematically and sonically, the album contains some of the “heaviest” moments Gilbert has ever shared with fans. The tracks blend his signature mix of country and rock sounds, with guitar, drums, and Gilbert’s powerful voice leading the charge.
Reflecting on Sins of the Father and what it means to him, Gilbert said:
“I’ve lived a lot of life to get here. This record is me owning all of it – the mistakes, the lessons and who I am now. It’s all part of the same story, and each track stands on its own, representing its own chapter.”

Brantley Gilbert released “GOOD DAMN” in March 2026 as the lead single from Sins of the Father. The track experienced the second-largest add week of Gilbert’s entire career when it secured 95 first-week adds at country radio.
It’s a steamy song inspired by Gilbert’s love story with his wife, Amber, who was “the one that got away” before they reunited and eventually married in 2015. They now share three children: sons Barrett and Abram, and daughter Braylen.
Gilbert gets brutally honest in “F****D ME UP,” as he recalls a dark period in his life before his wife’s faith and love brought him back to reality. There’s also a “clean” version of the song, titled “MESSED ME UP”
Other previously released tracks include “SINS OF THE FATHER” and “GOOD OL’ BOYS.” The former track emerged after Gilbert became concerned about how his past could affect the generation that followed in his footsteps. He self-labeled it as the “most country song on the album.”
But it all starts with the album’s opener, “THE ADDICTION.” This song sets the tone for the entire project, giving fans a sense of the experience they’re about to have as they move through each subsequent track.

“All of my albums are a chapter of my life and this one’s no different,” Gilbert said about his new album. “I don’t have skeletons in the closet – my sh–‘s out in the open. So if there’s any piece of my story that could help somebody, I’m cheating them if I keep it to myself.”
