Carrie Underwood Performed During “A Massive Downpour” In Myrtle Beach

Carrie Underwood didn’t let a little rain keep her from entertaining her fans during a recent concert. Except it was far more than a little rain…it was “a massive downpour.”

The Grand Ole Opry member headlined the last night of the Carolina Country Music Fest in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, on Sunday (June 9). According to Myrtle Beach news station WBTW, over 35,000 people were in the crowd for Underwood’s performance.

This was Underwood’s first time performing at the festival, which celebrated its ninth anniversary this year.

Her performance was made extra memorable thanks to a huge rainstorm that rolled in during the show. But instead of going backstage to wait for the rain to pass, Underwood embraced the moment.

The Season 4 winner of American Idol powered through the pouring rain to deliver an epic performance of her #1 hit, “Before He Cheats.” Reflecting on the experience in a post on social media, she said:

“Well, last night sure was fun! And though the ending was quite unexpected, it made for a night we’ll never forget! Thanks for being awesome, #MyrtleBeach !!!“

Underwood also posted a video of the rainy performance. Fans applauded her dedication and praised her in the comments section:
