Carrie Underwood Clarifies How She Feels About Nikki Glaser After Feud Rumors
Carrie Underwood is finally addressing the rumors that she had “beef” with one of American Idol‘s guest judges this season.
American Idol has welcomed several guest judges throughout Season 24. For April 27th’s episode, which was Taylor Swift-themed, comedian Nikki Glaser joined permanent judges Lionel Richie, Carrie Underwood, and Luke Bryan at the judges’ table.
Glaser sat between Underwood and Bryan throughout the night. Some viewers thought they noticed tension between Underwood and Glaser throughout the episode, sparking rumors of a feud.
“Hot shot [Carrie] didn’t like the competition on the show last night. She was very uncomfortable HaHA,” one person commented on Facebook.
Someone else commented, “Loved Nikki … she looked like she was having so much fun. Carrie looks irritated a lot.”
Another viewer wrote, “Carrie u seemed annoyed the entire show last night.”
“[Carrie] sure did look annoyed all night. I think because Nikki outshined her and stole her thunder. It was obvious Carrie didn’t like not being center of attention,” another viewer said.
Someone else commented, “To me, Carrie didn’t look impressed by Nikki at all. I’m no body language expert but I can read a person’s facial expressions and IMHO, she wasn’t impressed.”
Underwood initially attempted to squash any feud rumors by sharing a photo of her and Glaser on the Idol set. She wrote, “Had a fun night with the beautiful and hilarious @nikkiglaser joining us as a guest judge tonight on @americanidol.”
Glaser left a comment on Underwood’s post, writing, “Thank you for being so kind and cool! A true dream sitting next to you!“

But rumors of a feud between Underwood and Glaser persisted. So much so that Underwood felt the need to tackle the allegations during an interview with SiriusXM on May 6th.
“I feel like if you have two ladies in the same room together, someone is going to try to make a big thing out of it,” Underwood said. “[Nikki] was wonderful. I think she did such a great job ’cause it’s not an easy thing to come sit behind that desk and try to think of constructive things to say.”
She added, “There’s no beef—I have no beef.”

After putting rumors of a feud between her and Glaser to rest, Underwood is now focused on preparing for the Season 24 finale of American Idol.
