College Football Star Will Moseley Wows “Idol” Judges With Original Song

Will Moseley, a country rock singer from Hazlehurst, Georgia, captivated audiences and judges alike on the latest episode of American Idol.

He won the judges over with his raw and heartfelt performance of his original song, “Gone For Good,” on Sunday, March 3.

However, the 23-year-old’s journey to this moment wasn’t typical.

Before diving into music, Will was a dedicated football player. Unfortunately, he faced several concussions during his time on the field. Instead of giving up, this pushed him to pursue his passion for music even more.

“Football ended for me and that’s when I really picked up the guitar and started learning to play. It’s been a blessing in disguise.”

He decided to try his luck on American Idol, where he showcased his undeniable talent.

“I’ve realized being on stage and singing to people, it’s an adrenaline rush, really. The feeling that you get when you sing your own song and people sing it back to you, is life-changing.”

Only a few moments into his audition, Lionel Richie quickly stood up and gave Will an instant “yes,” before quickly leaving the room, evidently pressed for time elsewhere.

Will was urged to continue singing, while Katy Perry and Luke Bryan stood up, swaying their arms back and forth as if they were at a private concert.

Luke then made his way over to the piano, adding a few notes to accompany Will’s performance.

Fans wasted no time in expressing their admiration for Will and his undeniable talent.

“Will has a phenomenal voice. I think we might’ve found our winner or the next big country star.”
“That dude is absolutely TALENTED. If he doesn’t win, he’s at least top 5. Reminds me of a Jamey Johnson.”
“He brought the best out and he’s going to be in the Opry soon!”

Following his performance, Katy quickly FaceTimed Lionel, ensuring that all the judges could deliver their verdicts.

Lionel shared his thoughts over the phone call, expressing, “I think Will is a star!”

The judges wasted no time in delivering Will a resounding “yes” each, securing Will with a golden ticket.
