When is the ‘American Idol’ finale?

Season 24 of the fan-favorite reality show American Idol will come to a close with a highly anticipated finale in just a few days. Over the last fourteen weeks, Carrie Underwood, Luke Bryan, and Lionel Richie, along with millions of viewers, have whittled down the contestant pool to just three remaining vocalists.

Viewers can tune into the special three-hour finale on Monday, May 11, 2026, at 8 p.m. ET/7 p.m. CT on ABC to have a say in who is crowned champion!

Who are the top three contestants?

During the semi-final round on Monday, May 4th, the top five contestants had the chance to perform twice in hopes of earning the audience’s favor. First, they performed alongside cast members from Dancing with the Stars, creating a beautiful artistic crossover.

Next, each contestant returned to the stage to perform a duet with a noteworthy past Idol contestant. The matchups were:

  • Hannah Harper and Kellie Pickler
  • Keyla Richardson and Taylor Hicks
  • Jordan McCullough and Elliot Yamin
  • Chris Tungseth and Bucky Covington
  • Braden Rumfelt and Paris Bennett

Ultimately, Chris Tungseth and Braden Rumfelt were sent home. Jordan McCullough, Hannah Harper, and Keyla Richardson advanced to the final three!

Who will be performing during the ‘American Idol’ Finale?

The American Idol finale will be packed with exciting performances and memorable collaborations before a champion is crowned. Host Ryan Seacrest revealed the stacked lineup of special guests at the end of the semi-final episode.

All three judges, Carrie Underwood, Luke Bryan, and Lionel Richie, are set to perform. Additionally, country icons Brad Paisley and Lee Ann Womack, as well as Idol alum Clay Aiken, will take the stage.

Finally, Blues Traveler, Cameron Whitcomb, En Vogue, Jason Mraz, Nelly, Shinedown, Tori Kelly, and Motley Crue will round out the lineup for what is sure to be a momentous night.

Hannah Harper To Sing With Lee Ann Womack

Missouri native Hannah Harper was a standout from the beginning of the season. With roots in bluegrass and gospel, she is the only remaining country singer in the competition.

Ahead of the finale, the “String Cheese” singer was given the special surprise that she would get to perform with her favorite country artist: Lee Ann Womack. She wrote:

“This doesn’t feel real. What an absolute honor.”
