Dolly Parton’s Nephew Reveals Her Final Resting Place, Beside Husband Carl Dean

Country music legend Dolly Parton passed away on August 25.
Dolly’s nephew, Bryan Seaver (the son of Dolly’s sister, Cassie), who also served as her head of security for two decades, shared the heartbreaking news in a video message posted to Dolly’s official social media accounts.

In a press release, Dolly’s team shared that she passed away “peacefully” in Nashville, Tennessee. Later, her team confirmed that she fought a brief battle with cancer before her death.
Dolly was preceded in death by her husband of nearly 59 years, Carl Dean, who passed away on March 3, 2025.
“Dolly has lived in the light and is in the arms of Jesus, surely met by Carl, her parents, and countless others who have watched her and longed for her to meet them in the heavens,” Bryan said in his video message.
Bryan has since shared the location of Dolly’s final resting place. He told TMZ that she will be laid to rest beside Carl at the Woodlawn Memorial Park and Mausoleum in Nashville, Tennessee.
TMZ also reports that “Dolly will be buried in her signature high heels and a comfortable cotton dress.”

More Details Concerning Dolly Parton’s Funeral Wishes, Revealed
In the video Bryan Seaver shared about his aunt Dolly’s death, he briefly spoke about her burial wishes. He said she shared that she wanted to be laid to rest on a bed of cotton, explaining:
“Dolly called me and said she wants to rest in a beautiful bed of plush cotton, because after a life wearing heavy rhinestones, she finally deserves to be comfortable and have some rest.”
A press release from Dolly’s team shared some additional details concerning her funeral. The service will be private, and for her immediate family only, per her wishes. It remains unknown if a larger, public memorial will be held at a later date.
The family has asked that, in lieu of sending flowers, those who wish to honor Dolly’s life and legacy may make a donation to her Imagination Library.
Dolly established the Imagination Library in 1995. Since then, the organization has helped distribute millions of books to young children around the world.
