Elle King Breaks Silence 6 Weeks After Drunken Dolly Parton Tribute
on Mar 10, 2024
Roughly 6 weeks after she took the Opry stage drunk for a Dolly Parton birthday tribute, Elle King broke her silence on social media.
On January 22, Elle King joined a host of other stars to pay tribute to Dolly Parton on her 78th birthday. But, things unexpectedly went south when King took the stage, obviously under the influence, and proceeded to deliver a profanity-laced performance of of Parton’s hit, “Marry Me.”
Footage captured by attendees show the singer introducing herself and admitting that she was “hammered.” With slurred speech King told the audience that they weren’t going to get their money back. Footage of the appearance quickly went viral. Fans were equally offended by Elle King’s seeming disrespect for Dolly Parton and the Grand Ole Opry and concerned for her well being.
@auctioneergirl I think Elle King just ended here career. I cant imagine disrespecting Dolly at the @Grand Ole Opry on Dollys birthday 🤦🏼♀️ I hope Elle gets the help she needs cause this does not pass the vibe check. **This is not my video** • • • #thegrandoleopry #drunk #elleking #ellekingmusic #Tennessee #fyp #foryoupage #foryoupageofficiall #fypシ #fypシ゚viral ♬ original sound – AuctioneerGirl
