After days of uncertainty, Garth Brooks has finally revealed the fate of one of his scheduled shows.

Brooks is currently on his cross-country Blame It All On My Roots arena tour. He announced the trek in July, and it kicked off on August 20 in Indianapolis.

While most artists announce their tour dates and cities all at once, Brooks has taken a different approach. He unveils each tour stop one at a time and staggers the ticket sales.

Brooks has announced nine tour stops so far. Stop #8 is Kansas City, where Brooks originally scheduled shows for November 6 and 7. Later, he announced the addition of a matinee show on November 7, with tickets for that extra show going on sale on October 23.

But Brooks pulled the plug on the sale mere minutes after it started. His team announced that they were forced to halt the sale “due to excessive bot activity.” They added, “Garth and the promoters are evaluating next steps and the future of the show.”

Brooks shared a personal statement shortly after, saying:

“The bot situation is out of hand. It’s been progressively getting worse on this tour. With that said, my concern is for the people who managed to buy tickets today for the third show in Kansas City before the bots crashed the on sale. I will personally look into what can be done.”

Brooks’ decision finally came a few days later. In a post on his website, he and his team announced that the November 7 matinee in Kansas City has officially been canceled.

Why Did Garth Brooks Cancel His Kansas City Concert?

Garth Brooks and his team explained what caused the disruption when tickets for the Kansas City matinee went on sale. They said everything “went sideways when bots flooded the on-sale” for the show.

Brooks’ team reports that over 90,000 people were in the online queue for the matinee tickets. They later determined that “most of that number turned out to be bots.” The bots held onto some of the best seats on the floor and lower bowl of the arena, keeping the tickets away from real fans.

“Because of social media posts and our history with Kansas City, I felt we left people unable to get tickets on the original on-sale,” Brooks said in a statement.

Ultimately, the decision was made to close the sale and cancel the concert.

Brooks’ team shared that anyone who managed to break through and secure a ticket for the November 7 matinee will automatically be refunded. The refund will be issued to the purchaser’s original payment method.

Although Brooks had to cancel one show in Kansas City, his evening performances on November 6 and November 7 are still happening. Those are the next dates scheduled on his Blame It All On My Roots arena tour, followed by four shows in Seattle from November 12-15.

Where do you think Garth Brooks’ tour will take him after that?
