Hannah Harper Performs Her Viral Hit “String Cheese” For Idol Finale

Hannah Harper brought her emotional original song, “String Cheese,” to the American Idol Season 24 finale.

Hannah Harper won the hearts of America during her Idol audition. The mom of three brought judge Carrie Underwood to tears with her original song, “String Cheese.” The song tells about the joys and struggles of motherhood, a topic that resonated with moms everywhere.

As a result, “String Cheese” became a viral hit, amassing more than 1 million Spotify streams, more than 1 million views on YouTube, and earning her a spot on the iTunes Country Music chart.

After learning that she and Jordan McCullough were the Top 2 finalists during Monday night’s Season 24 finale, Hannah Harper had the opportunity to sing her audition song once again.

In what was undoubtedly one of the most emotional moments of the night, Hannah’s performance of “String Cheese” elicited a strong response from viewers who were reminded of why they fell in love with Hannah to begin with.

In addition to singing “String Cheese,” Harper also performed with her idol, Lee Ann Womack. The two sang Womack’s Grammy Award-winning song “I Hope You Dance.” Hannah also performed a self-penned tribute to her hometown of Willow Springs, Missouri, called “Married Into This Town.”

Other performances included a cover of Alicia Keys’ “No One,” a group performance of Carrie Underwood’s “The Champion” with the other finalists, and a collab with Alicia Keys herself.
