Beyoncé’s venture into country music

The internet is abuzz with chatter surrounding Beyoncé’s upcoming country album Cowboy Carter, which is set to release this Friday, March 29th. The Grammy-award-winning artist says that the new project was inspired by an experience years ago where she was not welcomed by the country music community. She shared online:

“This album has been over five years in the making. It was born out of an experience that I had years ago where I did not feel welcomed…and it was very clear that I wasn’t.”

“Didn’t see Beyoncé at the rodeo”

Some followers pointed out that this could be in reference to rumors circulating that Beyoncé, who is originally from Houston, was going to make a surprise appearance at the annual rodeo. Others however, took it as commentary on the pop stars attempt to be country.

What do you think?
