Jelly Roll Says He “Went To The Hospital” 1 Week Before Divorce News Broke

Just one week before the news of his divorce went public, Jelly Roll was forced to go to the hospital.
Jelly Roll Is On Tour With Post Malone
The “Save Me” singer and Post Malone are currently on their Big Ass Stadium Tour through July 28th.
Jelly Roll is concurrently on a solo Little Ass Shed Tour that he plays smaller venues in nearby cities of where his tour with Post takes him.
For example, on June 8th, Jelly Roll played his Little Ass Shed show in Wilmington, North Carolina. He then played a Big Ass Stadium Tour show in Charlotte, North Carolina on June 9th, followed by another Little show in Virginia Beach, Virginia on June 10th.
He had a day off before heading to Indianapolis, Indiana to meet up with Post Malone for another Big concert.
Jelly Roll has been releasing vlogs while on tour, and his most recent entry revealed he had to go to the hospital and miss part of his performance with Post Malone.
The vlog, which dropped on June 11, shows Jelly Roll in his dressing room before his June 10th Virginia Beach concert. A flower arrangement was delivered and it was from the “I Had Some Help” singer.
The flowers had a note that read, “Get well soon, MoFo! Love ya! – PM.”
Jelly Roll Explains Why He Went To The Hospital
For a while now, Jelly Roll has been battling a sinus infection and during the June 9th show with Post Malone, it became unbearable. He was able to perform his own set, but he wasn’t able to come out during Post’s to sing “Losers” like he normally does.
“I went to the hospital last night in Charlotte, North Carolina. Novant Hospital. Shoutout to that whole hospital. They literally got me on my feet for the show. I was puffy-faced, it was just bad,” Jelly tells the camera.
The “Hard Fought Hallelujah” singer said the hospital got him on a bunch of steroids to combat the infection.
Despite Jelly Roll missing their duet together, Post Malone knows that his health comes first!
“I love you Post,” Jelly said. “When I say on stage every night that Post Malone is the nicest human in the world. I’m not making that up. [He’s] the most normal dude in the world. I love you, Posty.”
The Hospital Visit Came One Week Before His Divorce News Went Public
Little did we know, when Jelly Roll filmed and posted this vlog, he was hiding a huge secret: he had filed for divorce from his wife, Bunnie Xo, on May 18th.
News of his divorce filing came on Monday, June 15th, a week after the vlog was posted.
Jelly Roll (Jason DeFord) and Bunnie Xo (Alisa DeFord) were married in August 2016, just two months after they met in Las Vegas. They returned to the same wedding chapel in 2023 to renew their vows, giving Bunnie the chance to wear a formal white wedding dress.
The divorce filing lists “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the split, and revealed that their date of separation was on May 9.
Fans were shocked to hear thew news of their divorce and the timeline since they had just posted together on May 3rd, celebrating Jelly Roll’s daughter’s prom night.
Bunnie even shared that she’d found her “ever after happily” on May 10th, one day after the separation date.
Fans are so invested in the divorce news because it came as such a shock, seeing as the couple were often outspoken about their love for one another and were open about being in the process of expanding their family with IVF and a surrogate.
Bailee took to her Instagram Stories to remind people that even though her parents are public figures, they still deserve privacy.
“Oh & one more thing I am disgusted at how invested everyone is in a very clearly private family matter. It’s fkn crazy.”
She continued, “Go on somehwere yall. Worry bout your house- not mine. I’m not speaking on it – yet.”
Neither Jelly Roll or Bunni Xo have broken their silence on the divorce yet.
