WrestleMania Delivers A Surprise Celebrity Matchup

WWE Wrestlemania 42 took over Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas this past weekend, from April 18th to 19th. More than 100,000 fans attended over the two nights. Pro wrestling legend John Cena hosted the event, which combines sports and theater.

WrestleMania is comprised of pre-scripted wrestling matches. Although the outcomes of the match-ups are predetermined, the stunts are performed live and in real time by some of the sport’s biggest stars. The event is known for featuring surprise appearances, heated rivalries, and celebrity cameos.

Country music star Jelly Roll has been involved with the sport since he made his debut at WWE SummerSlam in 2025. He was paired with Randy Orton for the highly anticipated match against Logan Paul and Drew McIntyre.

Jelly Roll’s Smashing WWE Stunt

With his ties to WWE and Orton, it came as no surprise that Jelly Roll was in attendance on Saturday night. But the manner of his involvement was one of the biggest plot twists of the weekend.

The matchup between Randy Orton and Cody Rhodes was the main storyline heading into the event. Their feud had been ongoing for years, in a classic mentor-versus-student story.

Before the match began, sports commentator Pat McAfee turned on Rhodes, with whom he had previously been aligned, and smashed him in the head with the mic. The pro wrestler retaliated, leaving McAfee lying on Michael Cole and Wade Barrett’s desk.

Jelly Roll soon emerged and delivered an elbow drop from the Spanish announce desk to put McAfee through the table. He shouted to Rhodes:

“Now go give them the one-on-one fight they came to see!”

McAfee sold the stunt and was removed from the venue on a stretcher. He later returned to the event wearing a neck brace. See the videos below!
