Kane Brown Hospitalized, Receives 23 Stitches After Golfing Accident

Kane Brown’s recent day on the golf course didn’t go as planned after he was hit in the head by a golf ball, leaving him with a pretty nasty injury.
The country star shared the aftermath of the accident on his Instagram Stories on Tuesday, June 23. And fair warning: if you’re a little squeamish, the photos might be hard to look at.
Kane didn’t share too many details about what happened to his Story, but in a now-deleted post, he did reveal that an unnamed friend was playing golf with him when the accident occurred.
According to Kane, the friend was further behind him and ended up hitting a slice that sent the ball flying in his direction and struck him.
From the photos he shared, the ball hit him mainly in the ear area, causing serious damage.

He revealed that he needed 23 stitches to repair his earlobe, and he also suffered a concussion.
For anyone who plays golf, you know just how dangerous a golf ball can be. Even amateur golfers can hit the ball at incredibly high speeds.
An average male amateur golfer typically swings between 90 and 95 mph, according to Trackman. This can send the ball flying at speeds of around 130 to 140 mph. Female amateur players average swings from 75 to 80 mph, producing ball speeds of roughly 110 to 120 mph.
With that kind of force behind it, it’s easy to see how a golf ball can cause a serious injury if it strikes someone. Considering he walked away with stitches and a concussion, Kane was actually very fortunate that the situation wasn’t even worse.
“[They] said it will prob get worse next 48 hours but I’m alive and that’s all that matters. holy crap,” Kane wrote along with another photo of his ear.

It seems like he’s taking it all pretty well, though.
His wife, Katelyn, also posted about the accident on her Instagram, sharing a video of Kane in the hospital. While the couple was clearly exhausted by the ordeal, they still managed to find a little humor in it and laughed together.
Kane even held up a golf ball to the camera (we’re assuming it’s the one that hit him).
It looks like he may be keeping it as a souvenir from a golf outing he’ll probably never forget.

Kane Brown Had To Cancel His Latest Public Appearance
Although Kane is expected to recover from his injuries, the accident was serious enough that he couldn’t just shake it off and carry on with his plans.
The singer was forced to cancel his appearance at Tight Ends & Friends, hosted by Travis Kelce, that same night.
Thankfully, he’s on the mend, and fans will be able to see him on stage again soon once he’s feeling well enough.
Kane’s next scheduled performance is at Hoofbeat Country Fest on June 25. So far, it appears that he’s still planning to perform.
