Kelly Clarkson married talent manager Brandon Blackstock in 2013. The couple welcomed two children together, River Rose and Remington “Remy” Alexander, and Brandon had two kids, Savannah and Seth, from a previous marriage.

Kelly filed for divorce from Brandon in 2020, and the divorce was finalized in 2022.

Brandon privately battled cancer for three years before he passed away on August 7, 2025, at the age of 48. Prior to his death, Kelly postponed her Las Vegas residency so she could “be fully present” with their children.

Since Kelly and Brandon divorced, many have wondered if she’d be open to finding love again. There have been a few rumors about potential partners, but Kelly usually refrains from speaking on the subject.

During a September 30 appearance on the Las Culturistas podcast, Kelly shared some rare remarks about dating and confirmed her current relationship status. When co-host Matt Rogers asked if she was seeing anyone, she responded, “No,” confirming she is single.

She also shared the emotional reason why she isn’t interested in dating anyone right now, saying:

“My kids right now, I think there’s a lot behind that, but I think that would rock their boat a little bit.”

She continued to say, “And honestly, this is not a bull *** answer. I love my life right now. Like, it just got to where I am not exhausted at every point of it.”

Clarkson noted that she’s “unwilling” to dedicate time to a new relationship right now, adding that she’s just “having fun” with her kids and enjoying every moment with them.

“…We’re, you know, we’re cooking, we’re playing games. I’m there at [school] pickup, or I’m there dropping off. I’m there,” she said.

Kelly Clarkson Recently Ended Her Talk Show And Is Currently A Coach On The Voice

Kelly’s comment about no longer being “exhausted at every point” seems to refer to the recent end of her namesake talk show after seven seasons. The Kelly Clarkson Show aired its last episode on August 31.

While ending the show frees up a lot of Kelly’s time, she isn’t stepping out of the spotlight completely. She’s currently serving as a coach on Season 30 of The Voice, which premiered on September 21.

She’s hoping to score her fifth victory on the show. She previously won with Brynn Cartelli (Season 14), Chevel Shepherd (Season 15), Jake Hoot (Season 17), and Girl Named Tom (Season 21).

Kelly and Adam Levine are currently tied for the second-most wins in Voice history. The coach with the most wins is Blake Shelton, who won nine times in his 23 seasons on the show.

Kelly and Adam are both on Season 30 of The Voice, and they’re competing against two new coaches, Queen Latifah and Riley Green. Watch the four of them sing a cover of “The Weight” in the video below.
