Kid Rock Asks For Prayers For 17-Year-Old Drummer In His Music Video
on

Kid Rock released a music video for his new song “James 1:17 (Jesus Is King)” on Thursday (October 1).
The video opened with a dedication to two people: Jimmie Bones and Kalvin Lynch.
Jimmie Bones is Kid Rock’s longtime keyboardist and has been Battling ALS in recent years. While many longtime fans recognize his name, many didn’t know who Kalvin Lynch was.
Meet Kalvin Lynch
Kalvin is a 17-year-old fan battling DIPG, “an aggressive and fast-growing brain tumor located on the brain stem,” according to a fundraising page dedicated to the teen.
His Make-A-Wish request was to play drums with Kid Rock and the musician was able to make his wish come true and even featured him in the music video on drums!

In the Facebook Group Prayers for Kalvin, his mom shared several videos from the music video shoot, and you can’t help but smile while you watch Kalvin fulfill his dream of playing drums with Kid Rock!
Kid Rock Asks Fans To Pray For Kalvin
Following the release of the music video, Kid Rock took to social media to ask fans to pray for Kalvin, whose health has declined since filming the video.
“This is not a video to promote my album,” he starts out by saying. “This is a special video for my friend Kalvin Lynch, who as you know played drums in my most recent video, ‘James 1:17.'”
He continued, “You may have heard that Kalvin is battling a horrible brain tumor, and I just found out he has entered some special care. I know this is a very difficult time for him and his family so I thought that we could come together in the comments below with our words of encouragement, prayers for Kalvin and his family in hopes that it may bring them a little comfort.”
He link the Prayers for Kalvin Facebook Group, where the teen’s mom revealed, “He has been put on Hospice care now and we are getting things situated at the house for a smooth transfer into hospital bed when he comes home. This was difficult for us to make the decision to start him on hospice care.”
She continues, “But unfortunately it is time for that. We are not doing anymore radiation and there isnt [sic] anything left to try. So he will continue his life at home surrounded by family until we are close to the time he goes to his heavenly home. In which he will transfer to the hospice house in topeka. Please continue to pray for a miracle and pray that he remains pain free and comfortable surrounded by his loved ones.”
Kid Rock began talking right to Kalvin:
“It really was an honor for me to be able to perform with you and have you be part of a song that’s very special to me.”
He finished the video by saying, “I will see you again, my friend. Hang in there, keep fighting. I love you, God loves you. God bless you and all your family.”

Our thoughts and prayers are with Kalvin and his family.
