Kid Rock Performs During Massive Downpour In South Carolina
on Aug 01, 2024
Kid Rock was determined not to let the rain stop him from performing for his fans, even if it turned into a massive downpour.
The “All Summer Long” singer headlined the “Rock the Country” music festival in South Carolina on July 26 and 27. This two-day country music festival series takes place in seven small towns across the United States and features live performances from a range of country stars. Past performances have included Jason Aldean, Miranda Lambert, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Hank Williams Jr., and more.
While the rock country star was performing his hit “American Bad Ass,” both he and the crowd were caught off guard when heavy rain suddenly rolled in.
Most would have ran for shelter and paused the performance, but Kid Rock was determined not to let the weather ruin his show. Despite the downpour, he continued singing and dancing on stage as if nothing out of the oridnary was happening. The crowd followed his lead, staying packed and excited throughout the terrible weather, embracing the crazy moment with him.
Kid Rock took to Instagram to share a clip of the wild performance, captioning it, “Gonna take more than this to keep me off the stage! Thanks for hanging in there with us South Carolina.”
Kid Rock joins a list of country stars who have shown their dedication by refusing to let inclement weather stop their performances.
Kid Rock is just the latest country singer to prove that the show must go on. Earlier this year, Carrie Underwood proved her commitment during a headlining show when heavy rain poured as she sang her #1 hit “Before He Cheats.”
Lainey Wilson has also faced severe weather during an outdoor performance, where she ended up singing her songs a cappella due to concerns about the band’s equipment being affected by the heavy rain.
