Lainey Wilson rocked the house at the CMT Awards on Sunday night, taking center stage to belt out her newest smash hit, “Country’s Cool Again.” With her incredible voice and energy, she lit up the room and had everyone on their feet singing along.
Wearing her trademark cowgirl hat and a stylish brown two-piece ensemble adorned with fringe, Lainey electrified the arena. Her dynamic stage presence offered a window into the incredible atmosphere, with fellow country music artists seen passionately singing along in support of her performance.
Not only did Lainey Wilson perform during the 2024 CMT Awards, but she was also one of the most-nominated of the night.
The 2024 CMT Music Awards witnessed a rare occurrence with a five-way tie for the most nominations this year. Jelly Roll, Lainey Wilson, Cody Johnson, Megan Moroney, and the event’s host, Kelsea Ballerini, all received three nominations each.
Lainey Wilson’s impressive nominations included “Watermelon Moonshine” for Video of the Year and Female Video of the Year. Additionally, she secured a third nomination for Collaborative Video of the Year alongside Lukas Nelson + Promise of the Real for their work on “More Than Friends.”
Wilson’s performance at the awards comes just before she begins her “Country’s Cool Again” tour, set to kick off in Nashville on May 31st. This extensive tour will see Lainey visiting 37 cities across the United States from May to November.
