Things could be heating up for Kayce Dutton and Andrea Cruz as Season 2 of Marshals continues.
The possibility of their relationship becoming more than just a friendship has been hinted at since the show’s first season. Now, in Season 2, Andrea and Kayce are spending even more time alone together.
While most of their interactions have been work-related, the show’s latest episode, which aired on Sunday, November 1, gave fans their most personal moment yet.
**SPOILER**
Andrea went over to Kayce’s house, where the two had a deep conversation about the trauma she’s been carrying since her abduction by the Cleggs. She eventually fell asleep on Kayce’s couch, which left a pretty intimate feeling in the air for viewers watching at home.

Ash Santos Opens Up About Andrea & Kayce’s Developing Connection In Marshals
Now, Ash Santos, the actress who plays Andrea, is weighing in on fans’ questions about a possible romance between the two characters.
“There’s little hints [about them] that are put in the script now with the writing,” she told US Magazine. “There’s something that the both of them go through and it really makes them start questioning how they even feel.”
She admitted to the outlet that the storyline wasn’t something she saw coming, but she’s enjoyed watching Andrea and Kayce’s connection develop and being surprised by it just like everyone else.
“I didn’t see it at first. When I first got the role, I didn’t realize and I really wanted to stay with that because I think it gets complicated when you’re playing a character if you know everything that’s going to happen in the future. It’s kind of nice to just let yourself be surprised as if it is your life,” she said.
She continued, “So with Andrea and Kayce, the connection between them in season 2 grows even deeper because he is the only person that she truly lets in to what she’s learning about her father because she knows he’s the only one that can relate because he’s gone through the same thing with John Dutton.”
In mid-October, photos surfaced of Luke Grimes filming in New York, leaving fans curious why his character would be there. It was later revealed that Grimes and Santos were filming scenes together in the big city.
Apparently, Kayce offered to go with Andrea.
Santos added, “And the way he volunteers to come to New York with her and really stands by her, she can really lean on him. That’s just so special for any friendship.”
We don’t know exactly why they’re making the trip, but Santos said the experience was amazing.
“There’s a scene at the end of episode 15 that I won’t say anything about but we filmed it [recently] and the Manhattan skyline was in front of us and we were on the water and it was night time and we were under like the Brooklyn Bridge and I was like, ‘Oh my God, this is stunning! The fans are gonna love this.”
By the sound of it, this trip could bring Kayce and Andrea even closer. Who knows what could come from that?
Fans will have to wait a while to see how it all plays out, though. Episode 15 isn’t expected to air until sometime in 2027. The show is definitely keeping fans on the edge of their seats for as long as possible!
New episodes of Marshals air every Sunday on CBS at 7 p.m. CT / 8 p.m. ET. You can also stream the next day on Paramount+.
