Morgan Wallen’s Nashville Bar Announces New Opening Date Following Postponement
on May 31, 2024
Morgan Wallen’s “This Bar & Tennessee Kitchen” has rescheduled its opening date following a delay that left fans disappointed.
Morgan Wallen had initially shared that the six-story establishment would open over Memorial Day weekend. However, bar management confirmed to Scoop: Nashville that the opening had to be postponed.

At the time, the Metro Beer Board stated that they had not granted a catering or temporary beer permit for the bar since it had not yet received approval from the fire marshal and Metro Codes department.
The decision to postpone the opening was also reportedly influenced by Metro Nashville’s rejection of the bar’s sign. 4th Avenue Property LLC required approval from the Metro Nashville Council to proceed with constructing and installing the 20-foot-tall sign. But, 30 out of 37 Metro Council members voted against it.
Several members of the council had expressed worries about Wallen’s previous actions in the city, including being arrested for throwing a chair from another Broadway bar and using a racial slur.
We just voted down a resolution allowing an Aerial Encroachment with Morgan Wallen's name on it. Yes THAT Morgan Wallen. The one who throws chairs & uses racial slurs.
Nope! No thank you.
Try that in a small town…. 🤷🏽♀️ better yet….don't try it all.https://t.co/O1TfS3ygTw pic.twitter.com/cUkoMRGf4D

In response to the council’s decisions and the subsequent controversy, Lesli Wallen, Morgan Wallen’s mother, even chimed in herself to fire back at the city.
Now, the 30,000-square-foot bar has a brand-new opening date!
“This Bar” will open at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 1, according to a social media post shared by Morgan Wallen’s This Bar & Tennessee Kitchen.
Located at 107 4th Avenue North, next to the iconic Ryman Auditorium, “This Bar” will open just before CMA Fest, which is known as the longest-running country festival.
“We’re thrilled to welcome our first guests on Saturday, June 1, to ‘This Bar’ leading into CMA Fest,” Grant Burlingame, the Vice President of Operations at TC Restaurant Group, shared. “This venue has been a labor of love for us and Morgan. His fans and music lovers alike will love the experiences they will find at ‘This Bar.’ We’re proud to open its doors.”
While many fans were thrilled about the announcement, a few expressed their disappointment that the bar did not open as promised the weekend before. They shared their reactions in the comments on Morgan Wallen’s This Bar & Tennessee Kitchen’s post announcing the new opening date.
