Reba McEntire Has A Good Reason For Not Marrying Fiancé Rex Linn Yet
on

Reba McEntire and Rex Linn are happily in love, even though their wedding plans are on hold.
Reba and Rex have been engaged for more than a year and a half now. Rex popped the question on Christmas Eve in 2024, and the power couple publicly shared their exciting news in September 2025.
Since then, it seems like almost every interview Reba and Rex do includes questions about their upcoming wedding. But each time, they still don’t have many details to share because they haven’t actually planned the ceremony yet.
This has left a lot of fans wondering why the couple keeps putting off their wedding.

Reba Explains Why She And Rex Aren’t Married Yet
The “I’m a Survivor” singer has opened up about the topic several times, explaining that their busy schedules have played a big part in why they haven’t tied the knot yet.
“Rex got picked up on ‘Stick’ with Owen Wilson, so that kind of pushed the wedding back,” she said in February. “He says, ‘Work comes first.”
And now, months later, their careers haven’t slowed down.
On top of their own projects, like Rex’s new shows and Reba’s music career, the two are also filming Season 3 of Happy’s Place, which will premiere on October 23.
In an interview with E! News earlier this week, Reba gave fans the latest update on their wedding plans.
“We’re just waiting until we have an open spot to have the wedding,” she said.
“Get it planned. Print those invitations.”
Although marriage may still be a ways off, they are both happy with where they are right now. Reba went on to share how well they get along and how much they enjoy spending time together.
“It’s easy, we have a blast together,” she continued. “We work together, and we rehearse together. We carpool together. So, we’re always together.”
Reba added, “We like each other… We love each other, but we like each other. We have fun.”

And when the time finally does come, Reba already has a pretty good idea of what she wants for the big day.
She wants her friends and family there, along with all the barnyard animals she loves so much.
“I have two granddogs, Watson and Belle, so they may be the ring bearers or something like that, but we have to have our animals there,” Reba told ExtraTV in May. “We’ve got longhorns and donkeys, horses and everything there at the place, cats, and we just, we have a lot of fun with them.”
