Reba McEntire honored her late friend and country music legend Dolly Parton in a very special tribute during the 2026 Emmy Awards.
The 78th Primetime Emmy Awards took place Monday (September 14), at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, California.

One of the night’s most special moments came when Reba took the stage to honor her special friend. News of Dolly’s death on August 25 sent shockwaves around the world after the country music icon died following a brief battle with cancer.
Reba and Dolly shared a decades-long friendship that began early in Reba’s country music career. Over the years, the two remained close while supporting one another through major moments in their personal lives and careers.
Shortly after news broke of Dolly’s death, Reba took to social media to share a touching tribute in her honor.
“There will never be another you,” Reba wrote.
The country star shared a montage of throwback photos of the two together, spanning years of memories.
“Thank you, Lord, for Dolly. She’s gonna have a blast in heaven singing all her favorite songs with all her family and friends who have gone on before her,” Reba continued. “I will always love you.”

As the emotional performance came to an end, Reba softly said, “I love you, Dolly.”
